Happy St. Patrick’s Day!

A little change of pace today.  Along with knitting, I love to cook.  There’s still a few days before March 17th but we won’t be home at dinner time next weekend.  We always  celebrate St. Patrick’s Day at our house with a traditional   St. Patrick’s Day meal – corned beef and cabbage and Irish soda bread.   I made our Irish dinner  this past weekend and thought I’d share the great recipes that I found online.

Here’s a great corned beef and cabbage Slow Cooker Recipe that we all enjoyed. Usually, I use a Dutch Oven but since I wouldn’t be home a good part of the day, I searched for a slow cooker recipe instead.  I decided not to add potatoes and made mashed potatoes.  Then, I found this great traditional Irish Soda Bread Recipe. It only took about an hour to make including preparation.   I made the one with all purpose flour.
