#OperationSockDrawer Part 1

#OperationSockDrawer…I’ve seen this hashtag on Instagram and Twitter a lot lately and, I must admit, I’m a bit confused. Is this a KAL or a Ravelry Group? A little googling found nothing. Just a hashtag? (Think #JimmyFallon).

In any event, #OperationSockDrawer sounds like a fun knitting event and “I wanna try”. After watching “The Hungriest Knitter” Episode 2 (@rachellynnec on Twitter), I knew I had to run out to Joann’s and find some Paton’s Kroy Sock self striping yarn. And so last night while my daughter was at her ballet class, I rushed over to Joann’s and was able to get this:

I just recently signed up to get email coupons from Joann’s and had seen an email in my inbox from Joann’s earlier in the day. But, of course, I forgot them before leaving home. When I was checking out, the sales woman asked me if I had any coupons and my answer was “Ohhh, I saw an email and forgot to print them out”. Lucky for me, she said she could scan them from my phone so I received 40% off all of the above items. (None were on sale this week). Yay! And kudos to Joann’s for going paperless in that way!

And today’s non knitting thingy that I’d like to share:

Nutella mini cups! As the package of 10 says, “Perfectly Portable”. Just the right amount to go in a lunchbox. My sister sent this package down from Connecticut so I expect we will be seeing these in Atlanta soon. Yum!!!
