Friday Favorites- Gifts for Knitters Vol. 2

If you’re looking for a gift for your favorite knitter, here is one of my most favorite and useful tools: the sock blocker. To those unfamiliar with knitting socks, a nice soak and blocking after a pair of socks have been knitted give the socks a beautiful shape. Here’s a few places where you can find them (clockwise from top left):

  • I found these Westie Sock Blockers from Purrfectly Catchy Designs. You can find similar ones here. (Make sure you buy a pair!)
  • These Knitpicks Sock Blockers are the first ones that I purchased and are currently on sale!!! (Sold in pairs)
  • I love my sheep sock blockers from The Loopy Ewe! Make sure you buy a pair!
  • Another favorite is these Bryson Sock blockers from Jimmy Beans Wool!  (Sold in pairs)

Trying to figure out what size to get?  Check out these reference charts from the Craft Yarn Council or Knitting Any Way. Both provide a general reference for Sock lengths. I use reference charts like these all the time to get an idea of how long to knit the foot length of a sock (helpful hint: a screenshot saved to my knitting album is the fastest way to look this info up – I have two saved and do a rough average).

Knitters – where have you found your favorite sock blockers?!? Share here!
