Finally Finished!
I love knitting simple socks with fun yarns. I finally finished a few pairs of socks over the holidays that have been in my project bag for a while. (I have a tendency to knit plain socks when I just want to knit with pretty yarns. I can usually find at least 2 pairs in my project bag). These socks are full of stockinette stitch or a similar basic stitch.
I finished these three pairs over the holidays and blocked them this past week! (Two pairs for my son and one pair for my daughter). I was incentivized to complete them since my son was about to head back to college in the cold Midwest. Nothing like wool socks to keep your feet warm!
I knit all three of these pairs of socks using an afterthought heel. I really like this method for knitting striped socks. I love the effect! I also like the look of this heel with using a contrasting color for the heel and toe.
I knit these socks for my son using Paton’s Kroy Socks in Ragg Shades. If these look familiar, I also knit a pair for my husband last year! I love this simple striping pattern and I just started a pair for myself!
These socks are also for my son. I used a skein of my own hand-dyed yarn and MadelineTosh Edison Bulb for the toes. I love the contrast of these two colors!
Last, but not least, I knit these socks for my daughter using The Flying Kettle’s sparkly Frabjous Day yarn. This was such a fun yarn to knit with!
